Redmi Note 17 chipset, charging speed and IP rating leaked

Xiaomi recently announced that the Redmi Note 17 will have a 7-inch display – previously, it would have been considered more of a tablet than a smartphone. The company also confirmed that the device will have an 8,000 mAh battery. While not small, this is smaller than the 9,000 mAh battery of the Redmi Note 17 Pro.

A new leak from Android Treasure has revealed the display specifications once again, this time on an official-looking card with some additional details. According to the leak, the smartphone supports 45-watt wired charging and 22.5-watt reverse charging. For comparison, the Pro model charges at 67 watts.

The fairly large display is protected by Gorilla Glass, though the protection rating is unknown. Brightness is 1800 nits. It also boasts an IP65 rating for water and dust resistance (compared to IP69K for the Pro model). It’s worth noting that this applies to the Chinese model – it’s unclear whether these features will also be available for the global version.

The Redmi smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset. This is a relatively new entry-level 5G chipset manufactured using a 4nm process. Unfortunately, RAM and storage capacity were not specified on the card. A Geekbench test revealed 12 GB of RAM.
Redmi Note 17 with 50 MP AI camera
Official images of the smartphone show that it will have a single 50-megapixel camera with AI capabilities. It also features stereo speakers with 200% volume amplification.
The Redmi Note 17 and the Pro model will be unveiled tomorrow in China. Details regarding a global launch are currently scarce.
