Amazon Leo: Starlink competitor is almost ready
Amazon has been building its own satellite constellation in low Earth orbit for some time now, called Amazon Leo (Low Earth Orbit). This will inevitably compete with SpaceX’s Starlink, currently the largest satellite constellation.
Chris Weber, Amazon’s vice president and head of Leo, announced today that over 390 Leo satellites are already in operation, which is apparently sufficient “to ensure continuous operation in the initial latitudes”.

He also explains that the company has already completed “enough launches for the first service this year,” strongly suggesting that Amazon plans to offer Leo generally as a service before the end of 2026.
