Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra get a new selfie camera

This morning, rumors surfaced that the entire Galaxy S27 series would feature the Privacy Display function, which premiered in the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Now, new rumors are emerging regarding the Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro and the Galaxy S27 Ultra, particularly concerning their selfie cameras.

Both Galaxy phones are rumored to be getting a new 16-megapixel front-facing camera. The source of this information suggests it could be a square sensor, similar to the one in the iPhone 17 series, but that’s pure speculation at this point.

It’s not entirely out of the question that the S27 and S27+ will also receive the new sensor, but whether that will actually happen is still unclear. For years, Samsung has sold by far the most Ultra models in its Galaxy S series, while the standard and Plus models account for significantly smaller shares. Therefore, it would make sense to offer the higher-end Ultra specs in a more compact form factor, namely the smaller Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro.
The S27 Pro and S27 Ultra are also expected to feature a 50-megapixel telephoto camera and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. The S27 Pro will be released in 2027 and will join the family as a smaller version of the S27 Ultra without the S Pen.
