Redmi K90 Ultra with Snapdragon 8 Elite and large active fan is here
Xiaomi officially unveiled the Redmi K90 Ultra in China today, ending months of leaks, rumors, and speculation. The K90 Ultra is equipped with the older Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, but features an integrated active fan that is designed to lower the temperature by up to 10°C. This ensures that even long gaming sessions run smoothly without performance drops. Additionally, a dedicated D2 interpolation chip is included for gaming.
The Redmi K90 Ultra features a 6.83-inch flat AMOLED panel with a resolution of 1280 x 2772 pixels, a fast 165Hz refresh rate, a peak brightness of 3500 nits, and full-array DC dimming. A 50MP main camera with OIS, using a 1/1.55-inch sensor, handles photos and videos. There’s also an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 20MP selfie camera.
Power is supplied by a very large 8,550 mAh battery, which supports 100-watt wired charging and 22.5-watt reverse wireless charging. A compatible 100-watt GaN charger is included. The device’s two symmetrical stereo speakers have been optimized by Bose, and it is dustproof and waterproof according to IP66, IP68, and IP69 standards. HyperOS 3, based on Android 16, serves as the operating system.
Redmi K90 Ultra prices
The Redmi K90 Ultra is available in Space Silver, Shadow Black, and Sky Blue. The regular price starts at 2,999 CNY (386 EUR/441 USD) with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Currently, however, there’s a promotion where you can get 16 GB of RAM for the same price. This version regularly costs 3,199 CNY (412 EUR/470 USD). Additionally, the model with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage is available for 3,499 CNY (451 EUR/515 USD), and the top-of-the-line model with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage is available for 3,699 CNY (477 EUR/544 USD).
It’s unlikely the Redmi K90 Ultra will ever be officially sold outside of China. However, it wouldn’t be a big surprise if Xiaomi rebrands the Redmi in the coming months and releases it under the Poco brand in international markets.
