Apple iPhone Air 2 with dual camera will be released in spring 2027
According to Bloomberg, work on the Apple iPhone Air 2 is progressing according to plan, and the device is expected to launch in spring 2027. The updated model could feature an ultra-wide-angle lens in addition to the wide-angle lens, thus offering better value for money.
According to the report, the Apple iPhone Air 2 with two camera lenses is currently in an advanced testing phase. Apart from the additional camera, the device has the same design as the current model.
Apple iPhone Air 2 battery life
Apple also wants to improve battery life, either through a larger battery or greater energy efficiency. Since the design of the new model is similar to the current one, a physically larger battery may not be possible. The device will be equipped with an A20 chip, manufactured using Apple’s new 2nm process, which could therefore offer greater energy efficiency.
Several rumors have already suggested that Apple will equip the iPhone Air with a second camera to address the biggest customer criticism of the device. The current model has a single rear camera with a wide-angle lens, which puts it at a disadvantage compared to the less expensive iPhone 17 in terms of camera quality. The iPhone 17 has two cameras, while the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, as usual, have three.
The Apple iPhone Air 2 will be released alongside the iPhone 18 in 2027, while the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and the foldable iPhone Ultra are expected to be unveiled in September.
