Google Pixel Watch 5: New images and certification
Google is known for its numerous device leaks, and now there’s another one. A prototype of the Google Pixel Watch 5 surfaced in the depths of the Atlantic Ocean, revealing its design well before its official launch. The images of the Watch 5 were shared by Randy Pitchford, co-founder of Gearbox Software – the studio behind the Borderlands series.
According to a post on X, the watch was found during a dive near the Caribbean island of St. Martin. Pitchford noted that the watch still had enough power to display the time, but the main battery was dead. From the front, the Google Pixel Watch 5 looks exactly like its predecessor.
The back of the watch features several markings indicating some of the key technical specifications. These include the IP68 rating, which presumably prevents saltwater from damaging the internal components of the Watch 5. The name “Pixel Watch 5” and the designation “45 mm” are also visible, confirming that it will be the same size as the larger Pixel Watch 4.
Google Pixel Watch 5 appears in certification list
Following leaked images of the Google Pixel Watch 5, the still-unreleased wearable has now received certification from the Indian BIS certification authority. The listing names four model numbers: G0F3Y, G1XJ6, G25QD, and GFW3R. These likely correspond to the 41mm and 45mm sizes of the Pixel Watch 5, as well as the two connectivity options – Wi-Fi and cellular.
The diving photos shown above depict the 45mm version of the Pixel Watch 5. The remaining markings confirm the presence of a heart rate sensor, a UWB chip, a pulse sensor, and SpO2 and skin temperature measurements. The only other information we’ve found about the Pixel Watch 5 is that it may be equipped with a custom Tensor chipset instead of the Qualcomm Snapdragon chips used in all previous Pixel watches.
