Samsung One UI 9 Beta for the Galaxy S26 series is here
It is widely expected that Google will preview Android 17, or at least some of its key features, later today at its Android Show I/O Edition. Samsung apparently didn’t want to wait that long and has announced its Android 17-based One UI 9 beta program for the Galaxy S26 series.
The One UI 9 beta program is currently only available to Galaxy S26 users in select countries, including Germany, India, Korea, Poland, the UK, and the US, starting this week. Registration for the beta program is possible via the Samsung Members app.
One UI 9 with AI graphics tool Creative Studio
The press release details the changes included in the new firmware update. Samsung Contacts gains access to the AI-powered Creative Studio graphics tool, allowing users to create personalized profile cards directly within the app. The quick control panel now offers improved controls with independent switches for screen brightness, sound, and media player.
In terms of accessibility, Samsung now offers a combined TalkBack voice guidance package, previously offered separately by Google and Samsung. Text Spotlight now works in floating windows for improved reading. Mouse button speed can also be adjusted. Furthermore, Samsung Notes receives new pen lines and decorative ribbons for enhanced personalization.
Samsung automatically flags suspicious app activity as soon as high-risk apps are detected. This security feature blocks the execution and installation of files and recommends appropriate measures to protect your device.
