Sony Xperia 1 VIII: Teaser video hints at new camera layout

Sony has officially announced the date for the unveiling of its next Xperia flagship, the Sony Xperia 1 VIII: Wednesday, May 13th. The company released a new teaser video on its YouTube channel, which doesn’t reveal much yet, but hints at a new layout for the triple camera.
Even better: The company has also published the link to the livestream, allowing everyone to watch the presentation of the Sony Xperia 1 VIII. The link will be active in less than two days – the event takes place on May 13th at 2:00 UTC.
According to unofficial information, CAD-based renderings show a completely new design for the back of the upcoming Mark 8 model. A square camera unit with three lenses is located in the upper left corner.

The Sony Xperia 1 VIII’s lenses reportedly have focal lengths of 16mm, 24mm, and 70mm and are arranged in a triangle, rather than in a row as with previous models. The front, as usual, consists of a flat 6.5-inch OLED panel without a notch or punch-hole. And yes, it will have a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The Sony smartphone will be expensive, but the price that leaked last week also included a pair of Sony WH-1000XM6 headphones. We’ll know more by tomorrow at the latest.
