Samsung Privacy Display with heart rate and blood pressure measurement

At Display Week 2026, Samsung Display unveiled a new OLED display with privacy and health monitoring features, a display with improved brightness and color reproduction, a brighter QD display, and a stretchable display for cars.

The company’s improved sensor-OLED display is a 6.8-inch panel with integrated biometric sensors for measurement of heart rate and blood pressure. This is achieved using organic photodiodes embedded alongside the regular OLEDs. These photodiodes detect blood flow by measuring the light emitted from the display and reflected by the finger.

Another impressive feature of this display is the integrated Flex Magic Pixel technology – the technology behind the Privacy Display. Could we see this technology in a future Galaxy S Ultra?

Samsung Stretchable Display 2.0 (200 ppi pixel density)

The Flex Chroma Pixel Display promises improved brightness and color reproduction. Thanks to LEAD, it reaches up to 3,000 nits in “High Brightness” mode. LEAD is Samsung Display’s proprietary OLED technology for high brightness that doesn’t require a polarizer, thus reducing power consumption.
Flex Chroma Pixel offers superior color reproduction with 96% coverage of the BT.2020 color space. The panel is made of phosphorescent sensitizing fluorescent material (PSF), which improves color purity and accuracy. Samsung Display states that, unlike some other panels that sacrifice brightness for color accuracy, Flex Chroma Pixel offers both.
Samsung Display is one of the key players behind quantum dot (QD) panels. At this year’s Display Week, the company presented new EL-QD displays that increase brightness by at least 25%.
The company presented two screens – an 18-inch version with 500 nits (previously 400 nits) and a 6.5-inch version with 400 nits (+33% compared to a similar screen from the previous year).
Another interesting development is the Stretchable Display 2.0, designed as an instrument cluster for cars. Its stretchability is used to extend and adapt the speedometer depending on driving conditions.
This stretchable display offers a pixel density of 200 ppi, an increase of 67% compared to the 120 ppi of version 1.0. According to Samsung, 200 ppi is the standard for displays in the automotive industry.
