Samsung Galaxy Glasses appear in Samsung app
Earlier this week, a leak revealed renderings of Samsung’s upcoming smart glasses, and we naturally assumed they would be called “Samsung Galaxy Glasses.” Now, Samsung has essentially confirmed this with an app update. The source is an app called “Nearby Device Scanning,” which is part of Samsung’s One UI on Galaxy smartphones and Galaxy tablets and enables a fast connection to nearby devices – such as the upcoming Galaxy Glasses.

The second line of the app’s current changelog mentions support for “quick pairing of glasses” and the display of the battery level, as you can see in the first screenshot above.
This essentially confirms that the smart glasses will be called Samsung Galaxy Glasses, even though “Galaxy” is missing from the changelog above. However, Samsung mobile products have carried the Galaxy name for decades, so it was likely an oversight or a deliberate attempt to avoid leaking the glasses too obviously.
As you may have already noticed, the changelog for the “Nearby Device Scanning” app has also revealed that you can now view the battery level of your Galaxy Glasses on your Samsung smartphone or tablet, similar to how you can already do this for the Galaxy Buds and Galaxy Watches.
The Samsung Galaxy Glasses could be unveiled at Samsung’s summer Unpacked event, which most likely takes place in July. They reportedly feature a 12-megapixel camera, a 155mAh battery, no display, and the Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1 chipset with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support. The price is expected to be between 379 and 499 US dollars.
