OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra with Dimensity 9500 chip and 8,600 mAh battery is here
The OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra gaming smartphone is now official – and with it, the new gaming controller designed for smartphones. Unlike its siblings, the Ace 6 and the Ace 6T, the Ultra is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset. According to OnePlus, this should enable 165 frames per second in six popular games, including League of Legends: Wild Rift, Clash of Clans, Soul Knight and Subway Surfers.
Chipset
The Dimensity 9500 chip features a 12-core Mali-G1 Ultra GPU, promising more than double the ray tracing performance and 33% higher overall performance compared to the previous generation. The eight-core CPU offers 32% higher single-core performance thanks to the ARM C1 Ultra core.
The smartphone can run Delta Force continuously for three hours at 165 frames per second without any loss of performance and with an average power consumption of 4.6 watts.
The OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra has the second largest battery ever fitted in a OnePlus smartphone. It was installed as a dual-cell battery with a capacity of 8,600 mAh and allows for up to 7.4 hours of gaming at 165 fps or up to 13.6 hours of navigation. The battery life is 5 years.
The smartphone supports bypass charging, which conserves battery power and reduces temperature when an external power source is available. The battery supports 120-watt fast charging – it reaches 53% in 20 minutes and 100% in 49 minutes.
The OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra features a 6.78-inch OLED display (BOE) with a resolution of 1272 x 2772 pixels. It’s a 10-bit panel with Dolby Vision and HDR10+, and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage. Brightness reaches 3600 nits at 25% APL and utilizes a combination of DC dimming (above 70 nits) and high-frequency PWM dimming (below 70 nits).
OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra with new gaming controller
The smartphone is compatible with the new gaming controller, which is sold separately. The controller has four additional buttons on the back (with a response time of 1.8 ms). However, joysticks or action buttons are not included.
It features an additional antenna for a stronger signal, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and a USB-C charging port on the bottom. It also has a magnetic mounting option for a separately sold fan. The controller is retractable and should therefore be compatible with other smartphones as well.
Camera setup
The main rear camera of the OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra has a 50 MP resolution and features a 1/1.55″ sensor, an f/1.8 lens with optical image stabilization (OIS). It also includes an 8 MP ultrawide camera (f/2.2, 16 mm). The selfie camera has a 16 MP sensor and the same 23 mm focal length as the main camera. The rear camera can record video in 4K at up to 60 frames per second, while the selfie camera can record video at a maximum of 1080p at 30 frames per second.
The phone’s casing is made of an aluminum alloy, and the screen is protected by tempered glass. The back is either made of another layer of tempered glass (in the Ace Awakening color variant) or regular glass (in the Metal Storm variant).
The OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra features symmetrically arranged stereo speakers and a linear motor along the X-axis for haptic feedback. An ultrasonic fingerprint reader is located under the display. The USB-C port on the bottom only supports USB 2.0, so no video output is to be expected (which is a missed opportunity for a gaming smartphone).
The phone is certified according to IP66 (splashproof), IP68 (submersion) and IP69K (protection against hot water jets).
Prices
The OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra starts at 3,800 CNY (474 €/555 USD) for the 12/256 GB version. The 16/256 GB version costs 4,100 CNY (512 €/600 USD), the 12/512 GB version 4,400 CNY (549 €/645 USD), the 16/512 GB version 4,700 CNY (587 €/690 USD), and the top model with 16 GB RAM and 1 TB storage costs 5,400 CNY (674 €/790 USD).
The OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra is available in China starting today with a small discount of 300 CNY on all versions. The gaming controller can be pre-ordered for 450 CNY (56 €/65 USD).
