Huawei has released a new variant of its recently launched Mate 80 Pro Max with an integrated fan. Called the Huawei Mate 80 Pro Max Wind Edition, it is already available for pre-order in China.

Huawei has not yet released any details about the new variant, suggesting that an official announcement could be imminent. The launch might coincide with the Huawei Enjoy 90 series, which is scheduled to be launched in China on March 23.

At first glance, the Huawei Mate 80 Pro Max Wind Edition looks very similar to the standard model, but initial images show a wider camera ring with visible ventilation slots for the built-in fan.

It’s noteworthy that Huawei apparently made design compromises to accommodate the cooling system, including the removal of one of the cameras. The Wind Edition features a revised camera layout with three sensors, compared to the quad-camera system of the standard Mate 80 Pro Max.

As mentioned previously, the device can already be pre-ordered in the official Huawei Vmall online store in China. It is available in Polar Night Black and Polar Day Gold, as well as in storage configurations of 16/512 GB and 16 GB/1 TB.

Apart from that, the smartphone is likely to offer similar technical specifications to the standard Mate 80 Pro Max, which features a 6.9-inch AMOLED LTPO display, a Kirin 9030 Pro chipset, and a 6,000 mAh battery with 100-watt wired and 80-watt wireless charging.
