Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra production increased, livestream starts at 7pm

According to a new Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra leak, Samsung has increased production, but not because of higher sales figures.

According to a new report from its home country of Korea, Samsung is increasing the initial production volume for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, which will be officially unveiled today at the Unpacked event.

The company reportedly planned to produce around 2.5 to 2.9 million Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra devices in the first two months, but this number has now been increased to 3.5 to 3.9 million units. That’s an increase of about one million, which is definitely significant. The reason for the increased initial production appears to be that Samsung is preparing for higher production costs in the future due to rising semiconductor prices.

Essentially, this doesn’t necessarily mean that the company believes the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra will sell better in the first few months than originally expected. Rather, Samsung will stockpile the additional devices to sell later, as they can now offer them at a lower price – from the company’s perspective – than they would have earlier in the year.

The production plan for the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra in its first year remains unchanged, further supporting this theory. Samsung expects to produce around 18 million units of the Galaxy smartphone in its first year. This means that the Ultra is likely to be by far the best-selling model in the S26 family, as only 12 million units of the S26 and S26+ models combined are planned.
