Honor Magic8 Pro Air with 6.1 mm, triple camera and 5,500 mAh battery is here
The Honor Magic8 Pro Air is here, Honor’s answer to the Apple iPhone Air and the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge. Honor, however, takes a slightly different approach, as the Magic8 Pro Air offers professional specifications, including a triple camera with a separate telephoto lens, a powerful 5,500 mAh battery and an extremely bright display.
Unlike its main competitors, the Honor smartphone features a 6.31-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,216 x 2,640 pixels, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and a maximum local brightness of 6,000 nits. It also offers a 50 MP selfie camera and an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.
The Honor Magic8 Pro Air is still only 6.1 mm thin and weighs a mere 155 grams. It features an aluminum frame and a glass back. Honor has also managed to include stereo speakers and a physical nano-SIM card slot for two cards. Alternatively, an eSIM can be used. The device is IP68/IP69 water and dust resistant.
On the back is a camera module with three sensors. The main sensor is a 50-megapixel camera (equivalent to 23 mm) with a 1/1.3-inch sensor, an f/1.6 aperture, and optical image stabilization (OIS). Additionally, there’s a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto lens (equivalent to 74 mm) with a 1/1.2-inch sensor, an f/2.6 aperture, 3.2x optical zoom, and OIS. The third module is a 50-megapixel ultrawide-angle lens (equivalent to 16 mm) that also functions as a macro camera.
Despite its slim design, the Honor Magic8 Pro Air features a 5,500 mAh silicon carbon anode (Si-C) battery, as well as 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
The smartphone is equipped with MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chipset, up to 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 1 TB of UFS 4.1 storage. It runs on MagicOS 10 based on Android 16.
Honor Magic8 Pro Air Pricing
The Honor Magic8 Pro Air is available in Shadow Black, Fairy Purple, Feather White, and Light Orange. Prices start at 4,999 CNY (611 €/717 USD) for the 12 GB RAM/256 GB storage variant and go up to 5,999 CNY (734 €/860 USD) for the 16 GB RAM/1 TB storage model.
The official sales launch in China is on January 23rd. Honor has not yet released any details regarding a global rollout.
