Insta360 Link 2 Pro and Link 2C Pro webcams with huge 1/1.3″ sensors are here

Just over a year ago, Insta360 introduced the Link 2 and 2C webcams. Now, the company is presenting the Insta360 Link 2 Pro and Link 2C Pro models with larger 1/1.3-inch sensors – a significant upgrade over the 1/2-inch sensors of their predecessors.
Insta360 Link 2 Pro
The Insta360 Link 2 Pro uses a gimbal to track your movements in space. The camera can optionally be paired with the Wave speakerphone for conference calls.

The camera features an 84° lens (f/1.9) and the Insta360 app lets you define a tracking area – allowing you to reserve part of the room as a kind of “backstage” area. Alternatively, you can pause the tracking area – within this area, the gimbal will stabilize the movement.

The new 1/1.3-inch sensor of the Insta360 Link 2 Pro is significantly larger and offers 2.23 times the light-sensitive area of the conventional Link 2. Dual Native ISO with HDR ensures optimal results even in difficult lighting conditions.
The sensor features “2.4 µm equivalent pixels,” presumably due to pixel binning. It also offers 4x in-sensor zoom and PDAF. A real-time bokeh mode is also included.
Insta360 Link 2C Pro
The Insta360 Link 2C Pro is almost identical, except it lacks a gimbal. Instead, it uses the sensor’s built-in zoom to enlarge the field of view of its 84°/24mm lens. The field of view is intelligent and automatically narrows as another person enters the frame. The 2C model also features a physical cover that closes the lens for privacy.
Both models support 4K at 30 frames per second and 1080p at 60 frames per second (however, the bokeh mode does not work above 1080p at 30 frames per second). Two microphones with four recording modes are available depending on the application. AI noise reduction is also integrated.
You can find the new cameras in the Insta360 online shop at Insta360. Naturally, they are more expensive than the original Link 2 cameras. The Insta360 Link 2 Pro costs €270/$250, and the Link 2C Pro costs €220/$200. For comparison, the original Link 2 cost €230/$200 and the 2C €170/$150.
