Samsung Exynos 2600: World’s first 2nm mobile chip is here

The last leak only came last night and now the wait is finally over: The new Samsung Exynos 2600 chipset is official, the company’s latest flagship chipset for mobile devices. Manufactured using Samsung Foundry’s 2nm GAA process, it is the world’s first 2nm smartphone chip. It features a 10-core CPU based on the Arm v9.3 architecture and utilizes Heat Path Block (HPB) technology to improve thermal management.


The Samsung Exynos 2600 features a 10-core CPU configuration with one Prime core, three high-performance cores, and six high-efficiency cores. The Prime C1 Ultra core clocks at 3.8 GHz, the three C1 Pro cores at 3.25 GHz, and the six additional C1 Pro cores at 2.75 GHz. According to Samsung, the new chipset offers up to 39% higher performance than its predecessor, the Exynos 2500, and at the same time better energy efficiency.
In the field of artificial intelligence (AI), the Samsung Exynos 2600 introduces a new NPU that, according to the manufacturer, offers a 113% performance increase compared to its predecessor. The chipset also improves security through features such as virtualization security and hardware-based hybrid post-quantum cryptography.

For gaming the Exynos 2600 is equipped with the Xclipse 960 GPU, which, according to Samsung, offers up to 50% higher ray tracing performance and double the computing power compared to the Exynos 2500.


In the area of image processing, the chipset’s ISP features a new AI-based visual perception system (VPS) that enables more precise scene and object recognition. It supports camera sensors up to 320 MP and offers deep learning-based noise reduction for improved low-light video recording.
The Samsung Exynos 2600 is also equipped with Samsung’s new Heat Path Block (HPB) technology, which uses high-k EMC material to improve heat dissipation and ensure consistently high performance under load or while gaming.
Other important specifications include support for LPDDR5X memory, UFS 4.1 storage, and 4K displays with refresh rates of up to 120 Hz.
Samsung is expected to use the Exynos 2600 in its upcoming flagship phones Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+, although reports on this are still contradictory. While one rumor suggests that the chipset will be used in several global markets, a more recent claim indicates that it may be limited to Korea. The Galaxy S26 series will be unveiled at the end of January.
