OnePlus 15R with Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip unveiled
OnePlus has already partially announced the OnePlus 15R last month , we now finally have the complete technical specifications and pricing information. We already knew that the 15R shares most of its key specifications with the model available exclusively in China. OnePlus Ace 6T would share, but there are some minor differences.
While the Ace 6T is equipped with a massive 8,300 mAh battery, the 15R makes do with a 7,400 mAh battery, which is still quite respectable. It uses a silicon-carbon (Si-C) anode and supports a slightly slower 80W wired charging speed compared to the Ace 6T’s 100W.
The OnePlus 15R does have an improved camera, but only on the front, with 32 MP compared to the Ace 6T’s 16 MP. The other major change concerns the software: The 15R runs OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16 and the complete OnePlus AI Suite.
The remaining key specifications of the 15R are identical to those of the Ace 6T. It features a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 165Hz variable refresh rate, protected by Gorilla Glass 7i. The smartphone is equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip equipped with 12 GB LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and optionally 256 or 512 GB UFS 4.1 storage.
The rear features a 50MP main camera (IMX906) with a 24mm equivalent focal length and optical image stabilization (OIS). This is complemented by an 8MP ultrawide lens with a 16mm equivalent focal length and a 112-degree field of view. The 15R also boasts IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K water and dust resistance ratings.
OnePlus 15R prices
The OnePlus 15R will be available in Charcoal Black and Mint Breeze. The base model with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage will cost €699 / $699 / £649, while the version with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage will cost £729. In India, the prices are INR 47,999 and INR 52,999, respectively.
Pre-orders are available starting today, with regular sales expected to begin on January 15th. Orders for the 12/512GB model placed on OnePlus.com until January 21st will receive a £100 discount. Buyers will also receive a free 120W power adapter set and either a pair of OnePlus Buds 4 or a magnetic sandstone case for the OnePlus 15R.
