Poco F8 Ultra and F8 Pro: Flagship killers with sound by Bose announced
Xiaomi has finally unveiled the Poco F8 Ultra and Poco F8 Pro at an event in Bali, Indonesia. The F8 series boasts flagship specifications and Sound by Bose technology.
Poco F8 Ultra
The Poco F8 Ultra is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with the VisionBoost D8 chipset. It also features a 6,700 mm² vapor chamber for improved cooling.
The Poco F8 Ultra is based on a 6.9-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution, a peak brightness of 3,500 nits, and an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. The display features narrow bezels and an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.
On the back is a triple-camera system with a 50 MP main sensor (Light Fusion 950) with optical image stabilization (OIS) and a size of 1/1.31 inches. The smartphone also features a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom and a 50MP ultrawide camera. The front camera has a 32MP resolution.
The Poco smartphone also features a rear-facing subwoofer, which, together with the two speakers, enables a 2.1 system. Poco has partnered with Bose to further optimize the F8 series’ audio experience. In addition, it boasts IP68 water and dust resistance, a metal casing, and eSIM support. The smartphone is available in denim blue and black.
The Poco F8 Ultra features a 6,500 mAh battery that supports 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The smartphone runs HyperOS 3 based on Android 16, which includes various AI features and Google Gemini. It will receive major updates for four years and security patches for six years.
Poco F8 Pro
The Poco F8 Pro is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, Qualcomm’s top-of-the-line model from last year, combined with the company’s three-layer 3D IceLoop system for improved heat dissipation. It features a 6.59-inch AMOLED LTPS display with a 120Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. The smartphone also features a metal frame and a matte glass back.
The Poco F8 Pro also features a triple-camera setup on the back. In addition to a 50 MP main camera with a Light Fusion 800 sensor and optical image stabilization (OIS), and a 50 MP telephoto camera with 2.5x optical zoom, there’s also an 8 MP ultrawide camera. A 20 MP front camera is available for selfies.
The device has a 6,210 mAh battery with 100W fast charging. Other features include IP68 water and dust resistance, Sound by Bose audio technology, an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, and eSIM support. The F8 Pro ships with HyperOS 3, based on Android 16, and receives the same four years of major updates and six years of security patches.
Prices
The Poco F8 Pro is available in black, blue, and titanium silver and can already be ordered from the official Xiaomi online stores. The version with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage costs €519/£399, the model with 12 GB RAM and 512 GB storage costs €549/£449.
The Poco F8 Ultra is available from £549 for the version with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage, while the model with 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage costs €749/£599.
