The Samsung Galaxy Z Tri-Fold finally made its first live appearance in Korea. Samsung showcased the triple-folding smartphone at the K-Tech Showcase 2025 conference. There’s also a new leak regarding the display and battery details of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8.

Samsung Galaxy Z Tri-Fold: First Live Teaser

The Samsung Galaxy Z Tri-Fold doesn’t officially have a name yet and was displayed behind a protective glass case at the Samsung booth. Visitors were not allowed to touch or handle the device.

The South Korean media company ChosunMedia published images of the Samsung Galaxy Z Tri-Fold, showing it folded and fully unfolded. It features two hinges that allow for a display diagonal of up to 10 inches. When fully folded, the screen diagonal of the Galaxy phone is only 6.5 inches, which makes one-handed operation easier, similar to the Galaxy Z Fold7.

Unfortunately, Samsung hasn’t released any further details about the triple-folding smartphone, but we have already received confirmation that it will be released later this year. The Samsung Galaxy Z Tri-Fold will be released in an extremely limited edition, with Samsung reportedly planning to produce only 50,000 units in the initial production phase.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 or Exynos 2600

Regarding the technical specifications, previous rumors indicate that the Samsung Galaxy Z Tri-Fold will be equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, a triple-lens camera, and three batteries. However, Samsung’s own Exynos 2600 chip has already outperformed the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in initial benchmark tests, so we could still be in for a surprise.

The weight is expected to be around 298 g. The Samsung Galaxy Z Tri-Fold is expected to retail for around $2,800 (€2,404). The few markets are expected to include China, South Korea, the USA, and the United Arab Emirates.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Gets Battery Update

Also for the other foldable flagship from Samsung has some news. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 isn’t expected to be released until next year, but as usual, various rumors are already circulating. The latest leak reveals information about the display specifications and battery capacity.

According to the leak, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 will use a new hinge technology created by laser drilling metal plates, thus reducing the crease in the display. The same technology is also said to be used in the first Apple iPhone Fold.

The leak also states that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 will be equipped with a battery with a capacity of over 5,000 mAh. For comparison: The current Galaxy Z Fold7 has a 4,400 mAh battery. The Galaxy Z Fold8 is also expected to bring back the S Pen.

Samsung expects to launch the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Flip8 in July 2026, barring any delays.
