Poco F8 Pro before launch, Poco F7 Ultra gets Android 16 and HyperOS 3

Earlier this month, the Poco F8 Ultra was certified for sale in Thailand by the NBTC, and today the same happened with the Poco F8 Pro. This is interesting because the F7 Pro and F7 Ultra only launched in March, and barely seven months have passed since then.
Poco F8 Pro certified in Thailand

And yet, these certifications were granted significantly earlier than those for the F7 series, strongly suggesting that the Poco F8 Pro and F8 Ultra will be officially unveiled much sooner than next March.
Since the certifications were issued very close together in time, we assume that they will be released together – like their predecessors (the regular Poco F7 was released later).

The NBTC certification only reveals the model number of the Poco F8 Pro, namely 2510DPC44G. The “G” at the end indicates a worldwide release.
There were rumors that the F8 Ultra would be a rebranded Redmi K90 Pro, but Redmi instead launched the K90 Pro Max. Accordingly, the F8 Ultra is likely based on the K90 Pro Max, and the Poco F8 Pro remains a mystery for now. We’re eagerly awaiting the next leak.
Poco F7 Ultra gets HyperOS 3 based on Android 16
The global Xiaomi 15 already received the update to HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 yesterday, after Xiaomi announced the release a few days earlier. Today, the Poco F7 Ultra is also receiving the latest firmware. More precisely, European devices are now receiving the update with version number OS3.0.3.0.WOMEUXM. As expected, it is based on Android 16 and offers Xiaomi’s latest and greatest user interface.

The update is being delivered as a 7.6 GB OTA (Over-the-Air) download. If you own an F7 Ultra purchased in Europe (you can check if the current firmware version contains the letters “EU”), you can also manually check for HyperOS 3 under Settings > About phone > System update.
The new software promises a fresher design that looks suspiciously like iOS in some places. It also offers improved performance, enhanced memory management, optimized background process management, and improved power consumption.
