Xiaomi Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro with 11.2″, HyperOS 3 and fast chips are here

The Xiaomi 17 series, the Redmi Pad 2 Pro, the Xiaomi Pad mini, and the Watch S4 41mm are now official. But they weren’t the only highlight of the event. There were also two other new tablets: the Xiaomi Pad 8 and the Pad 8 Pro.

The Xiaomi Pad 8 and the Pad 8 Pro share several features, including an 11.2-inch LCD display with 3.2K resolution, 800 nits peak brightness, and a 144 Hz refresh rate. The panel also supports Full DC Dimming, HDR10, HDR Vivid, and Dolby Vision.

Both Xiaomi tablets are also available in a matte version, featuring an AG textured coating on the display that’s said to reduce reflections by up to 70%. The tablets feature four speakers with Dolby Atmos, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a 9,200 mAh battery. The Pad 8 supports 45W fast charging, while the Pro model supports 67W.

Design-wise, the two models are identical, measuring 5.75mm thick and weighing 485g. Both tablets run on HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 and have the same connectivity features, including Wi-Fi 7, USB-C port, and Bluetooth 5.4.

Now let’s take a look at the differences. The Xiaomi Pad 8 is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, paired with up to 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. The Pro model features the Snapdragon 8 Elite, up to 16 GB of RAM, and 512 GB of storage.

The camera specifications also differ. The standard model has a 13 MP rear camera and an 8 MP sensor on the front. The Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro offers a 50 MP rear camera and a 32 MP selfie unit.
Prices
The Xiaomi Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro are available in black, turquoise green, and ice crystal blue. The Pad 8 starts at CNY 2,199 (€264/$310) for the 8/128 GB option, while the 8 GB/256 GB variant costs CNY 2,499 (€300/$350). The 12/256 GB model costs CNY 2,799 (€336/$390). The Matte Edition costs CNY 2,699 (€324/$380) for the 8/256 GB option and CNY 2,999 (€360/$420) for the 12/256 GB model.
The Pad 8 Pro costs CNY 2,799 (€336/$390) for the 8/128 GB variant and CNY 3,099 (€372/$435) for the 8/256 GB option. The 12/256 GB model costs CNY 3,399 (€408/$475), while the 12/512 GB option costs CNY 3,699 (€444/$520). There’s also a 16/512 GB option for CNY 3,899 (€468/$550). The Pro model is also available in the Matte Edition. The 12/256 GB option starts at CNY 3,599 (€432/$505).
