GoPro Max2 360 with 8K video and interchangeable lenses unveiled
GoPro has finally introduced a successor to the Max 360 action camera: the GoPro Max2 360 is here. The company also introduced a new compact Lit Hero action camera and the Fluid Pro AI multi-camera gimbal.
GoPro Max2 360
The new GoPro Max2 360 features a 1/2.3-inch sensor and can record 360-degree videos at up to 8K resolution and 30 frames per second. It supports 10-bit recording and GP Log. The camera can also capture 29 MP photos in 360-degree format and offers Max HyperSmooth with 360-degree horizon-lock stabilization.
A special highlight is the easy replacement of the lenses in the event of damage. A cracked lens can be replaced without tools. The GoPro Max2 360 features six microphones and supports Bluetooth audio.
Camera mounting options include the standard ¼-20 tripod mount, the integrated folding fingers found in all current GoPros, and the new magnetic closure system introduced with the GoPro Hero 13 Black.
The GoPro Max2 360 weighs 195 g, is waterproof up to 5 m, and features built-in GPS. It also supports AI-based object tracking, MotionFrame editing, and cloud-based editing via the GoPro Quik app.
GoPro Lit Hero
In addition to the 360-degree camera, the new GoPro Lit Hero action camera was also announced. It is the successor to last year’s tiny Hero camera and now features a built-in light with three brightness levels.
It supports 4K video recording at up to 60 frames per second, 2x slow-motion video, and 12MP photos. The camera also features interchangeable lenses, a built-in finger mount, a standard ¼-20 thread, and a magnetic mount.
The GoPro Lit Hero features HyperSmooth video stabilization, dual microphones, a built-in 1,225 mAh Enduro battery, weighs 93 g, and is waterproof up to 5 m.
GoPro Fluid Pro AI
Finally, the company also introduced the GoPro Fluid Pro AI multi-camera gimbal, which features AI subject tracking and is compatible with GoPro cameras, Smartphones and compact cameras weighing up to 400 g.
The GoPro Fluid Pro AI gimbal features 3-axis stabilization, forward and rear-facing subject tracking, a built-in fill light, and is said to offer a battery life of up to 18 hours.
Prices
The GoPro Max2 360 is available starting at €519.99/$499.99 and is already available for pre-order. Shipping begins on September 30.
The new Lit Hero costs €269.99/$269.99, and the Fluid Pro AI Gimbal costs €229.99/$229.99. Both will be available in stores from October 21st.
