Robust Oppo A6 Pro with 7,000 mAh battery introduced
The Oppo A6 Pro is official and a rugged smartphone. It is IP66, IP68, and IP69 certified, can withstand hot water pressure of 8,000 kPa, can be submerged in 1.5-meter-deep water for half an hour, and can be operated with wet or oily hands.
Oppo states that the A6 Pro can withstand drops from 2.5 meters, continuous drops from 1.5 meters, and even drops from half a meter up to 1,830 times. This robustness is achieved through the combination of aviation-grade aluminum in the frame and Crystal Shield glass on the front, which offers 160% greater drop resistance than the previous generation.
Oppo has also worked on improving the A6 Pro’s signal strength by integrating a 360-degree omnidirectional antenna into the phone’s frame. Called the Shanhai RF antenna, it increases low-frequency transmission by 200%, improving reception. And on the software side, the Oppo A6 Pro automatically switches to the optimal network when there is a delay.
The Oppo A6 Pro uses a 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7300 SoC with 8GB, 12GB, or 16GB LPDDR4X RAM. The battery has a capacity of 7,000 mAh and charges at 80 watts. Oppo claims that the battery reaches 80% capacity after 1,830 charging cycles, can be charged at -20°C, and maintains fast charging between 0°C and 43°C.
On the back, there’s only one useful camera – a 50 MP wide-angle camera with an f/1.8 aperture. There’s also a 2 MP depth sensor. On the front, there’s a 16 MP selfie camera with an f/2.4 aperture. The 6.57-inch OLED display with 2,372 x 1,080 pixels and a 120 Hz refresh rate achieves a peak brightness of 1,400 nits.
Oppo A6 Pro Prices
The Oppo A6 Pro is available in Gold, Blue, and Black Jade and in four configurations: 8/256 GB for CNY 1,799 (€215/INR 22,250), 12/256 GB for CNY 1,999 (€240/INR 24,700), 16/256 GB for CNY 2,199 (€262/INR 27,200), and the top 16/512 GB version for CNY 2,499 (€300 €/31,000 INR). The smartphone can already be pre-ordered, with deliveries beginning on September 12.
