In addition to the new Mate XTs and the MatePad Mini, Huawei also introduced its latest TWS earbuds – the Huawei FreeBuds 7i. The successors to last year’s FreeBuds 6i bring some important improvements and a few design tweaks.

The charging case is now round, rather than oval like its predecessor. However, the Huawei FreeBuds 7i feature the same stem design and in-ear silicone tips. Huawei now also offers the earbuds in sizes XS, S, M, and L.

The FreeBuds 7i feature 11mm dynamic quad-magnet drivers with improved sound tuning, which Huawei claims is more natural and balanced. The earbuds pair via Bluetooth 5.4 and are Hi-Res Audio certified. They also support a 10-band equalizer for sound tuning, multi-point panning, and 360-degree surround sound. Audio codecs supported include SBC, AAC, L2HC 2.0, and LDAC.

There’s also an updated active noise cancellation (ANC) system with Huawei’s Intelligent Dynamic ANC 4.0. It features a new algorithm with a faster response time of 0.5 seconds and average noise reduction of up to 28 dB.

The FreeBuds 7i feature 55.5 mAh batteries in each earbud and a 510 mAh battery in the charging case. These ratings are identical to their predecessors and mean the earbuds last up to 8 hours (with ANC off) and 5 hours (with ANC on) on a single charge. The total battery life is 35 hours of media playback with ANC off.

Huawei FreeBuds 7i Prices

The Huawei FreeBuds 7i are available in black, pink, and white. The price in China is 599 CNY (72 €/84 $).
