vivo Pad5 Pro, Pad SE and vivo Watch 5 are here
Yesterday, vivo launched the X200 Ultra and X200s, and today the company’s new tablets continue. The vivo Pad5 Pro is the first Dimensity 9400 model. It’s joined by the more affordable vivo Pad SE, where the “S” stands for “Study.” Also new is the vivo Watch 5.
vivo Pad5 Pro
The vivo Pad5 Pro is a 13-inch tablet with a bright 1,200 nit LCD display. The display has a resolution of 3,096 x 2,064 pixels and is well-suited for streaming (10-bit color, HDR10), gaming (144 Hz refresh rate), and document editing (3:2 aspect ratio). The eight-speaker sound system is also ideal for streaming and gaming.
This is the first tablet with the Dimensity 9400 chipset. Although its successor, the 9400+, is already out, it’s still one of the most powerful chips on the market. Vivo boasts 2.9 million points on AnTuTu and a “three-dimensional” cooling system. Depending on the game, the Vivo Pad5 Pro can render at 3.1K or 2.4K resolution at 120fps (with super resolution).
The tablet can be configured with 8/12/16 GB of RAM and 128/256/512 GB of storage. The 128 GB version uses UFS 3.1, while the other two versions use the faster UFS 4.1. The Vivo Pad5 Pro is slim and light, measuring 6.07 mm and weighing 635 g. There’s also a “featherlight” version of the tablet, which is even thinner at 5.96 mm and significantly lighter at 578 g.
Both models house a large 12,050 mAh battery, which lasts up to 16 hours when streaming online videos. Charging is achieved at 66 watts. The vivo Pad5 Pro runs Origin OS 5 HD, which promises PC-level office functionality. The tablet supports a stylus, and there’s an optional Smart Touch Keyboard 5 Pro case.
For connectivity, the vivo Pad5 Pro features Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, and USB-C with USB 3.2 Gen 1 data rates. There’s a 13 MP camera on the rear with 4K video recording, and an 8 MP camera on the front. Available colors are Cold Star Grey, Spring Tide Blue, Cloud Pink, and Feather Light White (the thinner and lighter model).
The vivo Pad5 Pro will go on sale in China starting April 25. The base model with 8/128 GB costs 3,000 CNY (360 €/410 $/35,000 ₹). Prices for the other storage options can be found below. Please note that the Feather Light Edition is only available in 12/256 GB and 16/512 GB variants.

vivo Pad SE
The vivo Pad SE is a more affordable entry into the world of Origin OS 5 HD. According to the marketing materials, the tablet is intended for students and also comes pre-installed with a number of learning tools and features (including parental controls for tablet use).
The vivo Pad SE is slightly smaller and features a 12.3-inch LCD display with a resolution of 2,464 x 1,600 pixels (slightly wider than 3:2), 100% sRGB coverage, and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. The display has a maximum brightness of 600 nits. There are two versions: the standard model, which weighs 6.8 mm/559 g, and the Soft Light version, which weighs 6.87 mm/569 g. The latter features a paper-like layer over the screen that reduces reflections and improves readability.
The vivo Pad SE is powered by a Qualcomm chipset, but vivo isn’t revealing the name. Given the clues, we assume it’s a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2. Added to this are 6/8 GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128/256 GB UFS 3.1 storage. The battery is slightly smaller at 8,500 mAh and charges significantly slower at 15 watts. vivo promises 8 hours of battery life when streaming online videos. The number of speakers is halved to four.
The vivo Pad SE has two 5 MP cameras, one on the front and one on the back. There’s also a mirror accessory that clips over the front camera, turning it into a scanner. You can use it to scan textbooks, homework, and other texts. The Origin OS software can also recognize text using OCR, and the built-in dictionary can display the definition of any word you tap. You can also annotate scanned documents or use them as easily erasable practice tests.
The vivo Pad SE will also launch in China on April 25th. The base model with 6/128 GB costs just 1,000 CNY (120 €/137 $/11,700 ₹), but several other options are available, including Soft Light models that cost 200 CNY more.

vivo Watch 5
The vivo Watch 5 Is available with an aluminum case that weighs just 32g – 4g lighter than the Watch 3. The optional stainless steel case weighs 35g. The new model also promises longer battery life than its predecessor – up to 22 days instead of 16. Smartwatch functionality includes an app store, WeChat Watch v9, and Baidu Maps. NFC is available for transportation cards and car keys (in supported vehicles).
The vivo Watch 5 features a 30-second quick health check and 24-hour monitoring. It can detect both arrhythmias and atrial fibrillation. The watch features a 1.43-inch OLED display with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels and a refresh rate of 60Hz. It achieves a peak brightness of 1,500 nits for outdoor visibility. The straps can be easily swapped using a quick-release system.
The vivo Watch 5 will launch in China next week. The aluminum model costs 800 CNY (95 €/110 $/9,400 ₹), while the stainless steel model costs 1,000 CNY.
