Tecno Megabook S14 with SD X Elite chip and GPU dock is here
Tecno already presented the Camon 40 series yesterday at the ongoing Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Today, after the sneak preview on Monday, it’s the turn of an exciting new laptop from the Chinese company: The Tecno Megabook S14 is here, an ultra-portable 14-inch notebook that weighs just 899 g.
But that’s not the only interesting thing about the Megabook S14 – there’s a version of it that’s powered by the Snapdragon X Elite chipset (X1E-80-100). This is a 12-core chip with a custom Qualcomm CPU design that runs with multiple active cores at up to 3.4 GHz or with two active cores at up to 4.0 GHz. The Adreno GPU achieves up to 3.8 TFLOPS of performance, while the Hexagon NPU can achieve up to 45 TOPS for AI tasks.
There is also an Intel version of the Tecno Megabook S14 with 5 and 7 Core Ultra chips of the first and second generation (255H, 225H, 155H and 125H). The laptops are equipped with LPDDR5 RAM and a 512 GB SSD (NVMe, PCIe Gen 4) and run Windows 11 regardless of the chip platform.
The Tecno Megabook S14 is based on a 14-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2,800 x 1,600 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. This makes it Tecno’s first OLED notebook. There is a light sensor to automatically adjust the brightness and two 2 watt DTS:X Ultra speakers for sound.
Tecno Megabook S14 weighs only 899 grams
The Tecno Megabook S14 measures 313 x 214 x 14.2 mm and, as mentioned above, weighs only 899 g. Accordingly, the 50 Wh battery is not the largest, but charges via USB-C with up to 65 watts (19 V/3.42 A). Tecno promises a battery life of up to 16 hours on a single charge. In addition, there is Wi-Fi 6E connectivity and a fingerprint sensor for secure unlocking.
Tecno also has an exciting accessory for the Megabook S14 in its range, namely an external graphics dock with an Nvidia graphics card. The graphics card takes care of things like gaming and video production and could also get involved in AI in the future.
Because Tecno has already finished its first AI model, which should also run on the Megabook S14. In addition, the AI assistant Ella can search for images, automatically create albums, transcribe recorded meetings even offline and help you create PowerPoint presentations.
