Tecno Camon 40, Camon 40 Pro, Pro 5G and Premier 5G introduced
As promised, four Tecno Camon 40 smartphones saw the light of day today at MWC 2025. They all focus on a premium camera experience with a large 50MP OIS main camera.
Tecno Camon 40
The Tecno Camon 40 is the most basic member of the series, with a 6.78-inch 1080p 120Hz AMOLED display and a MediaTek Helio G100 chipset. There’s a 50MP OIS main camera on the back, accompanied by an 8MP ultrawide and an additional small camera, likely a depth sensor. The front camera has a 32MP resolution and a fixed focus.
The Tecno Camon 40 is available with 8GB of RAM and either 128 or 256GB of storage. It is powered by a 5,200mAh battery that supports wired charging at up to 45W. The available color options are black, white, and two emerald green variants.
The Camon 40 Pro is a copy-paste model of the Camon 40, but its front camera has been upgraded with a 50MP sensor and autofocus. It is only available with 256GB storage, and the color options are similar. The Camon 40 Pro 5G is the same phone as the regular Pro, but with a different processor, namely the Dimensity 7300 5G. In addition to 5G connectivity, this also brings a 144Hz refresh rate. In addition to the 8/256GB version, the 40 Pro 5G is also available in a 12/256GB variant.
Tecno Camon 40 Premier 5G
The Tecno Camon 40 Premier 5G is the most powerful version of the series. This model has a 6.67-inch 1260p 144 Hz display, a powerful Dimensity 8350 5G AI processor and a 5,100 mAh battery with 70 watt fast charging.
The camera department consists of a 50 MP OIS main camera, a 50 MP 3x telephoto camera and a 50 MP ultra-wide angle camera. The front camera also has a resolution of 50 MP and offers autofocus, which is still a rarity even in very expensive smartphones.
The Camon 40 Premier 5G is available with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage and you can choose between black and emerald green color variants. All four phones have stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and launch Android 15. Tecno plans to announce prices and availability soon.
