Oppo Find N5 with 5,600 mAh battery and 4.21 mm is here
The race to launch the slimmest foldable device continues and Oppo has just taken the lead – the new Oppo Find N5 is here and the slimmest foldable on the market yet. Its predecessor, the Find N3, already received praise from all sides. The N5 now does almost everything better. At 4.21mm when unfolded, it’s barely thicker than the USB-C port and at 8.93mm when folded, it’s the slimmest book-style foldable yet.
To put that in context, the Honor Magic V3, the previous record holder, measures 4.35mm when unfolded and 9.3mm when folded. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 is far behind at 5.6mm and 12.1mm.
One reason for the extremely slim dimensions is the Oppo Find N5’s new Titanium Flexion hinge, which is 26% smaller than the Find N3’s hinge while offering improved rigidity.
The new hinge has also helped with the crease in the middle of the main display, a problem with all foldable smartphones. Oppo used a complex 3D printed wing plate made of titanium and a mix of carbon fiber material to achieve a low weight of 229 grams in addition to compact dimensions.
Despite its flat design and low weight, the Oppo Find N5 is also the world’s first foldable with IPX6, IPX8 and IPX9 water resistance ratings. This means it can handle both hot pressurized water jets and complete submersion. The frame of the phone is made of 7000 series aluminum.
Oppo Find N5 with 8.12 inch LTPO OLED display
Oppo opted for an 8.12 inch LTPO OLED main display with an FHD+ resolution and an adaptive refresh rate of 1-120 Hz. The panel has an aspect ratio of 9.9:9 and a peak brightness of up to 2,100 nits. There is also a 6.62 inch LTPO OLED cover display, also with FHD+ and 1-120 Hz. This panel has an aspect ratio of 20.7:9 and a peak brightness of up to 2,450 nits. Both panels are compatible with the Oppo Pen pen, which is available separately.
On the back of the Oppo Find N5 there is a camera setup with three sensors, led by a 50 MP main camera based on Sony’s LYT-700 sensor with a focal length range of 21 mm and OIS. There is also an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle lens (15 mm) with autofocus and a 70 mm 50 MP periscope (Samsung JN5) with three times optical zoom.
It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, albeit in the binned version, which has one less performance core. There is also 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. The software side is covered by ColorOS 15 based on Android 15. In addition, Oppo promises four years of Android version updates and six years of security patches. Power is provided by a large 5,600 mAh silicon carbon battery with 80 watt SuperVOOC charging via cable and 50 watt AirVOOC wireless charging support.

The Oppo Find N5 will be available from February 28 in the colors Cosmic Black, Misty White and Dusk Purple. The latter will be launched exclusively in China. There will also be some exclusive storage options for the Chinese market, and that’s good news – the Find N5 is also coming to global markets, but only in a 16/512GB version. It’s priced at SGD 2,499, which is the equivalent of €1,799 or £1,499. Pre-orders start tomorrow.
