Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Caviar Edition: 1 kg of gold for 100,000 US dollars

In September, Caviar – known for its custom-made luxury devices – announced the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate in Black Dragon and Gold Dragon versions. The latter is covered in 24-carat gold. Now the brand has unveiled another custom-made Mate XT Ultimate, but this one has an 18-carat gold body.

The Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Caviar edition looks exactly like the Gold Dragon version, but weighs about 1 kg. It costs over $100,000 (€95,890). Accordingly, the Caviar edition was also “specially made as a one-piece limited edition for particularly wealthy customers from the USA”. Therefore, it is not listed on the company’s website.
The 24-carat gold model, which launched with a starting price of $14,500 (€13,905), is now available at a base price of $17,340 (€16,630). Caviar will make 88 of them, as 88 is considered a lucky number in Chinese culture.
The regular Huawei Mate XT Ultimate weighs around 300g and starts at CNY19,999 (€2,630/$2,740). It is currently available exclusively in China, but the international launch is already planned for the first quarter of 2025.
