Honor Magic7 RSR Porsche Design unveiled

The new luxury model Honor Magic7 RSR Porsche Design is here, a premium smartphone that builds on the Magic7 Pro. There are a few small improvements here and there, though, while the core hardware, such as the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, battery capacity including fast charging, and the three cameras remain the same.

The Honor Magic7 RSR Porsche Design has a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display with 1 billion colors and a Full HD+ resolution. The panel manages a peak brightness of 5,000 nits and features special glass that is certified to be ten times more resistant to scratches and drops than regular glass. The under-display fingerprint scanner switches to ultrasonic as opposed to the optical sensor of the Magic6 series.

The three cameras on the back of the Honor Magic7 RSR are, as we said, unchanged – a 50 MP main camera, a 50 MP ultra-wide angle and a 200 MP portrait telephoto lens, just like the Magic7 Pro. However, Honor has developed a 1,200-point LiDAR scanner for the periscope lens to improve stabilization even when shooting 60 fps video. The feature is already known from the Magic6 RSR.

The front camera combination is also the same as the Magic7 Pro. This includes a 50 MP main camera and a 3D sensor for face recognition and better depth effects in portrait selfies. In addition, there is MagicOS 9.0 as the user interface, which brings many Magic AI features such as a personal agent, AI translation and two-way noise reduction during calls.
In addition to Bluetooth 5.4 and Wi-Fi, the Honor Magic7 RSR also offers a custom Honor C2 chip, which is designed to provide better 5G reception and seamless switching between cellular and Wi-Fi. There is also two-way satellite connectivity, although this is limited to China Telecom’s Beidou satellite network. This means that the function does not work on global models.
The battery has a capacity of 5,850 mAh and charges with 100 watts via cable and 80 watts wirelessly. The control is handled by the in-house E2 charging chip. The phone is IP68 and IP69 certified and has a compartment for two nano-SIM cards. There is also an NFC and an IR transmitter.
