New vivo Y300 model introduced in China
Last month, a vivo Y300 with 5G came to India, and today a phone of the same name appeared in China. It has little in common with its international namesake, and instead stands closer to the Y300 Pro launched three months ago.
The Chinese vivo Y300 is built around a 6.77-inch AMOLED panel with Full HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. It has a punch hole for a very basic 8MP f/2.05 selfie camera, while on the back there is a 50MP f/1.8 main camera and a simple 2MP f/2.4 auxiliary sensor.
The Y300 is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, a 6nm processor with a 2.4GHz CPU, up to 12GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage. The thin 7.85 mm case contains a large 6,500 mAh battery with 44 watts of charging power. The operating system used is OriginOS 5, as with all vivo phones for the Chinese market.
The company has also worked hard to make the speakers louder and clearer. The Y300 has been given a third speaker, which should provide better stereo sound, no matter how you hold the smartphone.
The vivo Y300 is available in green, white and black. Prices start at 1,399 CNY (182 €/192 $) for 8/128 GB and rise to 1,599 CNY (210 €/220 $) for 8/256 GB and 1,799 CNY (235 €/245 $) for 12/256 GB, up to 1,999 CNY (260 €/275 $) for the top-of-the-line 12/512 GB model.
