vivo iQOO 13 with RGB camera ring and large battery is here
The first Snapdragon 8 Elite smartphones from Xiaomi and Honor are already here and the vivo iQOO 13 seems to want to up the ante with a top-notch display, improved cameras and a huge 6,150mAh battery. The display is slightly larger than its predecessor iQOO 12 at 6.82 inches and uses the latest Q10 OLEDs, which manage a peak brightness of 1,800 nits.
The BOE-made LTPO 2.0 AMOLED panel offers a resolution of 1,440 x 3,200 pixels and a variable refresh rate of 1-144 Hz. It also features micro quad curved corners that look like a flat display but have subtle curves on all four corners. The vivo iQOO 13 also has a 32 MP selfie camera and an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.
On the back of the vivo iQOO 13, there is a large RGB-lit camera ring with 72 lighting effects. These include 12 color combinations and various effects such as pulsing and spiraling. The RGB ring light can display notifications, respond to music playback, and indicate charging status. It can also signal wins and kills in select gaming titles such as Honor of Kings.
The camera setup consists of three 50MP sensors. There is a 1/1.56-inch main camera (IMX921) with OIS, a 2x telephoto lens with 1/2.93-inch, and a 1/2.76-inch ultra-wide-angle lens with an f/2.0 aperture. The vivo iQOO 13 ships with OriginOS 5 based on Android 15 in China, while the global version will hit global markets with FuntouchOS 15.
The new iQOO also features a 6,150mAh silicon-carbon battery that supports 120W wired charging. Another upgrade for this year is the addition of IP69 dust/water protection.
vivo iQOO 13 pricing
The vivo iQOO 13 comes in Legend White, Track Black, Nardo Gray, and Isle of Man Green. Prices start at CNY 3,999 (€516/$560) for the 12/256GB variant and top out at CNY 5,199 (€671/$730) for the model with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage.
Shipping in China will begin on November 10. The phone is expected to launch globally in December.
