Redmi 14C with Helio G81 Ultra chipset and 120 Hz LCD is here
After various leaks, Xiaomi has finally officially launched the Redmi 14C today. The affordable smartphone features a completely new design, a larger 6.88-inch 120 Hz display, and the brand new Helio G81 Ultra chipset.
The Redmi 14C is based on a 6.88-inch IPS LCD display with HD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The panel is designed for a peak brightness of up to 600 nits and also houses the 13-megapixel selfie camera integrated into a waterdrop notch.
The Redmi phone is the first to launch with MediaTek’s new Helio G81 Ultra chipset. This has the same CPU configuration as the G80 with Cortex-A75 and Cortex-A55 cores running at up to 2.0 GHz. There is also a Mali-G52 MC2 GPU for graphics. There are also 4, 6 or 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of storage on board, which can be expanded via the microSD card slot.
On the back of the Xiaomi Redmi 14C there is a 50 MP main camera and an unspecified additional lens. The other two cutouts are for the LED flash and a simple sticker. There is also a slightly larger 5,160 mAh battery with 18 watt charging, as well as a side fingerprint scanner on the frame and a headphone jack.
The Redmi 14C is available in Midnight Black, Sage Green, Dreamy Purple and Starry Blue. Although Xiaomi has not announced official prices, the device is already available from retailers in the Czech Republic. Prices there start at 2,999 CZK (120 €/130 $) for the 4/128 GB model. The 8/256 GB version sets you back 3,699 CZK (148 €/163 $).
