ZTE Voyage 3D smartphone with glasses-free 3D display is here
ZTE still believes in 3D and unveiled its latest glasses-free 3D device at MWC Shanghai. The ZTE Voyage 3D is an entry-level Android smartphone with a 3D display that converts 2D content into 3D in real time.
The main selling point of the ZTE Voyage 3D is its Neovision 3D Anytime display technology. It uses stereoscopic eye-tracking technology with a 60-degree viewing angle. It essentially works like the Nintendo 3DS by projecting images with simulated depth to create a 3D effect. ZTE is working with Chinese video platform Migu Video to provide even more 3D content in the future.
The Voyage 3D has a 6.58-inch IPS LCD display with FHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. It is powered by a Unisoc T760 chipset paired with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage, and a 4,500 mAh battery with 33 watts of charging power. The smartphone starts MyOS13, but still based on Android 13. In addition to a 50 megapixel main camera, there is only a 5 megapixel front camera on board.
The ZTE Voyage 3D is only available in Star Black and costs 1,499 CNY (€193/$206) in retail. It is already on sale in China. In addition to the 3D smartphone, ZTE announced the prices for the Nubia Pad 3D II, which was introduced in February. The second-generation 3D tablet features a new and improved Neovision 3D Anytime display and, at 3,500 CNY (450 €/480 $), is also significantly cheaper than the first Pad 3D at 6,499 CNY (824 €/894 $).
