Meta Ray-Ban Display Glasses with built-in HUD leaked
Meta leaked in a YouTube video, which has since been removed, that it will launch its first smart glasses with an integrated HUD. In the video, the Meta Ray-Ban Display Glasses were paired with Meta’s sEMG armband, which is used to control the interface.
The Meta Ray-Ban Display Glasses feature a fixed HUD visible only to the right eye. No attempt is made to integrate the visual elements into the real world—they are not AR glasses. Instead, the idea is to have constant access to Meta AI, messaging, navigation, and more.
Meta Ray-Ban Display Glasses slightly heavier
The Meta Ray-Ban Display Glasses have a slightly chunkier frame and are reportedly heavier—they weigh 70g, compared to 50g for other Meta Ray-Ban Smart Glasses without a display. However, they will also be significantly more expensive – $800 (€674), according to a report by Mark Gurman.
The glasses are apparently being marketed as the Meta Ray-Ban Display to clearly differentiate them from other Ray-Ban models. Above, you can see them with the regular Ray-Ban Meta glasses, the Oakley Meta HSTN, the still-unofficial Oakley Meta Sphaera glasses, and the strap.
This strap appears to be an evolution of the well-known neural band. It uses sEMG (surface electromyography), which captures electrical impulses from the forearm muscles, to track the movement of your fingers—this allows you to interact with the glasses, as you can see in the video below.
Meta Connect 2025, the company’s annual conference, begins today, and there’s a very good chance the Meta Ray-Ban Display Glasses will be unveiled there. If not today, then in the coming days— It’s probably no coincidence that this video was uploaded to YouTube right now.
