Google Assistant will be shut down on September 4th

Google will discontinue the Google Assistant service, as Gemini will take over its functionality. The shutdown will begin on September 4th, but it may take several weeks for all users to be affected.

This shutdown affects Android and Wear OS, but also headphones (since these already use the phone’s assistant) and vehicles with Android Auto (since the assistant on the phone was basically being used).
Google Assistant continues to work in cars
In cars with an integrated Google operating system (i.e., with Android Automotive), the Assistant will continue to work even after September 4th. The Assistant also appears to be safe, at least for now, on Google TV, Google Home speakers, and smart displays.
Google emphasizes its commitment to a smooth transition and is confident that Gemini will offer an even more powerful and helpful assistant experience.
