Google Wallet can now track your packages
Google Wallet can now track your packages, and this isn’t the first time Google has experimented with package tracking. The now-discontinued Google Now, formerly known as the Google Discover feed, offered the exact same functionality.
The idea is quite simple: Google scans your Gmail inbox and automatically recognizes digital receipts and tracking numbers. These are then used to display shipment tracking information directly in your Wallet.

The user interface displays all upcoming packages directly on the home screen, next to your payment methods. Naturally, you can also view more detailed shipment information there and cancel a package after delivery. The system likely handles this automatically. Managing shipment tracking via Google Wallet has no effect on package notifications in Gmail.
However, there are some limitations when testing the new feature, at least for now. It’s only available in the US, and although Google states that it supports most major retailers and their email formats, you shouldn’t expect it to work flawlessly for every purchase and order from smaller stores.
To use the feature, you also need to adjust your Gmail settings and ensure that the “smart features of Google Workspace” are fully enabled.
