Google Search Live AI mode now available in over 200 countries
Google Search Live AI mode was rolled out in June of last year, and now the feature is being expanded to over 200 countries and territories. It is therefore available wherever AI mode is offered and in all languages supported by AI mode.
Google Search Live is an interactive feature integrated into the AI mode of Google Search. To use it, open the Google app on your Android or iOS device and tap the Live icon below the search bar.
You can then ask questions, receive audio answers, continue the conversation with follow-up questions, or delve deeper into the subject matter via web links.
Google Search Live also works with a camera
When you activate the camera, you can also ask Google Search Live questions about objects in your surroundings. This provides additional context. For example, if you want to install a new device, point the camera at it and ask for the installation instructions. You can also access live search in Google Lens via the “Live” option at the bottom of the screen.
If all of this seems suspiciously similar to Gemini Live, that’s because it actually is. However, it doesn’t run in Gemini, but in Google Search. That’s essentially all there is to it. If you prefer working in text mode, there’s a “Transcription” option. Search Live also runs in the background on your Smartphone, so you can continue talking even when using a different app.
