After initial information leaked earlier this week, Xbox has now officially unveiled Xbox Mythic Achievements – the equivalent of PlayStation’s Platinum Trophy. Players won’t have to wait long to access the feature; it’s available to all Xbox Insider Program participants starting today.

The introduction of Xbox Mythic Achievements was announced in a post on Xbox Wire. Xbox described them as a way to “celebrate some of the greatest achievements in your Xbox history.” Just like Platinum Trophies, Xbox Mythic Achievements are unlocked once you’ve earned all of a game’s original achievements. Additional achievements added through DLC or updates do not count and will not retroactively remove a game’s Mythic status.

A new Gaming tab has been added to player profiles, allowing you to view your achievements and track your progress. Here you’ll find all your Gamerscore points and achievements in one central location. Mythic achievements are highlighted with a prominent border, setting them apart from regular achievements. To help you reach Mythic rank, each game’s achievement list includes a progress bar showing how close you are to achieving all the required goals.

The announcement comes a week after Xbox announced further layoffs and studio closures, including the shutdown of Ninja Theory. Xbox remains a primary target of the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement.

Which games will have Xbox Mythic Achievements?

Xbox hasn’t yet released a list of games supported by the initial rollout of Mythic achievements. However, the Xbox Wire post mentions that Mythic achievements will automatically appear for eligible titles, including Xbox 360 games. Since the exact system for Mythic achievements is still unknown, it’s impossible to say for sure which games will be included, but we can make some educated guesses.

PlayStation first introduced Platinum Trophies in 2008, which is why countless titles from the PS3 era onward feature them. For multiplatform titles, Xbox could reuse PlayStation Platinum Trophy data to identify the corresponding Mythic achievements; however, Xbox exclusives would require the creation of Mythic achievements from scratch.
