Spider-Man 2 is coming to PlayStation Plus

Sony has announced the new games for the PlayStation Plus games catalog in February, continuing its series of the latest must-play titles for its subscription service. The best Spider-Man game yet, an emotional indie title, and other games will be available to Premium and Extra subscribers starting February 17, as announced by Sony in a PlayStation blog post.

Spider-Man 2
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 continues the Spider-Man adventures of Peter and Miles from the first game and the Miles Morales spin-off. Both patrol New York City – which now also includes parts of Queens and Brooklyn – and players can largely switch between them at will. Miles’s electric Venom powers (not to be confused with the familiar Venom) set him apart from Peter’s classic arsenal, which is upgraded by bonding with the game’s symbiote.
The story of Spider-Man 2 reinterprets classic Spider-Man canon, including who becomes Venom. It’s an excellent open-world adventure, with Polygon’s review stating: “It plays beautifully, with clever additions to the combat system that further enhance the power fantasy of being Spider-Man.” Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 had sold over 11 million copies as of May 2024.
Neva
Chances are you haven’t yet discovered the other highlight of the PlayStation Plus game catalog, Neva. It’s a poignant 2D platformer from Nomada Studio, the developers of the equally emotional Gris. In Neva, you play a young woman who travels with her wolf-like companion through a corrupted world, experiencing the changing seasons along the way. Polygon called it “shatteringly beautiful” in its review.
Besides Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Neva, there are several other new additions to the game catalog in February. Here’s the complete overview:
- Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown
- Season: A Letter to the Future
- Monster Hunter Stories
- Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin
- Venba
- Echoes of the End: Enhanced Edition
- Rugby 25
- Disney Pixar Wall-E (Premium only)
The PlayStation Plus game catalog includes games for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 and is available to subscribers with higher-tier plans, starting with the basic subscription. PlayStation Plus is Sony’s answer to the Xbox Game Pass and offers subscribers hundreds of games to download and try.
